Speaker 0:So let's get into this week's episode. Let's start with the fear. There's still this idea and fear floating around that AI is going to replace mortgage brokers, that it will make us all obsolete and we're just going to get pushed out by algorithms and chat boxes. Let me tell you straight it won't replace mortgage brokers. Yes, it's going to replace roles in other industries. Yes, it's going to replace roles in our industry, but it will not replace mortgage brokers, but you know what might replace mortgage brokers?
Speaker 0:A broker who uses AI to be quicker, be smarter, be more consistent with the marketing, deliver better client experiences and still have more time to think, reflect and grow. That broker is operating at a totally different level and it's not because they're smarter, it's because they're using the tools that's available to them. So when we talk about AI, there's one thing that I want you to remember People buy from people. They always have and they always will. The relationship you build with your client, the trust, the understanding, the connection that you make, that's what makes you valuable. That's what keeps clients loyal to you, leads to recommendation and helps you stand out.
Speaker 0:But if you're bogged down with admin and practically trying to take those notes and ticking boxes through your fact find because you've got 10 other things waiting to be done once you finish that fact find, how present are you really with that client in that moment? When you integrate AI into your workflow, you give yourself space. You can record your virtual meetings on Zoom or Teams and just record them and then use ai to generate fact-finding notes. Or you don't have to spend hours typing up meeting summaries or rewording the same client email over and over again. That means that in that first conversation with that new client, you are actually You're not worrying about remembering everything that you need to say, you're not cutting corners because of time pressure, you're not distracted, and that creates so much space for far better conversations. You talk about their short-term and long-term goals. You go deeper into protection and protection needs. You uncover their real needs and concerns and, because you're focused and fully present, your advice becomes more tailored, more empathetic and more valuable. And that's what AI gives you the time and headspace to be more human. So let's look at the truth about AI.
Speaker 0:Ai isn't a magic wand. It can't replace empathy, it can't replace trust, intuition and emotional intelligence the core of what makes a great mortgage broker. But what it can do is take care of those repeatable tasks, generate content, ideas, draft emails or explanations in seconds, and it saves hours on research and admin and it will help you scale your communication. The value you bring as a mortgage broker to your clients is your ability to understand people. Ai helps you show up more often, more consistently and with less stress, and that's a massive, massive benefit.
Speaker 0:The thing is, it's not too late to start. Maybe you're listening and thinking, craig, this all sounds great, but I'm not technical, I don't have the time to learn this. I don't know where to start and, because of this friction, you take no action and you don't have to be technical. That's why I created this podcast, this series I've done quite a few episodes now to show you exactly how to start, what tools to try and where the real value is With AI adoption into your business. It isn't about being first, it's about having impact. So just start small.
Speaker 0:Pick one stage of your client journey to improve. Use a prompt from a previous episode that I've talked about Save it, tweak it and make it yours. Just doing that alone puts you ahead of 90% of brokers who are still ignoring it. So who are the brokers who will stand out in the next 12 to 24 months? Not the ones who are working 60 hours a week trying to do everything themselves. Not the ones hoping that things will go back to how it used to be, but the ones who are leaning into tools that will save them time, automating low value tasks so they can focus on high value ones, and showing up online with value-driven content and delivering consistent, high-touch client experiences. These are the brokers that will win. They're not relying on AI to be the business. They're using AI to support the business they build.
Speaker 0:So what do I want you to do this week? I want you to take action. I want you to take 10 minutes to reflect and am I resisting AI out of fear or out of time, or is it just about habit? And then just choose one prompt, just one from my previous episodes, and try it this week. And then ask yourself how would my day-to-day look if I handled 20% of my admin or my content? Because the truth is that is possible right now, not in five years time, not in 10 years time, actually today.
Speaker 0:So if you've not listened to this podcast series about AI, go back to the start several weeks ago. Just take the time to think about it, take the time to reflect, as I said in the actions, and just think about how AI can be integrated into your business. And then the funny thing is is like the clients that I work with and the brokers that I work with and business that I work with who resist AI, and I just do work with them just to try one thing. Once you've tried one thing, the feedback that I get is like oh my God, why didn't I do this before? Why haven't you not told me to use this before? The thing is, I would say to them them I have and I've been using ai now for for several years, for quite a bit of time, and seeing how much it's grown over that period of time and who knows what the future looks like with ai into integrating into mortgage broker business. But the thing is start today, just start by integrating, and just see, surprise yourself about how much you can handle and how much you can help you to deliver the business that you want to deliver. And, like I say, this is happening right now and the quicker you get onto this, the more you'll get involved in the wave of things and things that are happening with ai and how and seeing the benefits of how it can truly transform your day-to-day work and how it can help you work smarter, more effectively, more efficiently and then be the broker, be that client-facing broker that you truly want to be.
